Public Information

We respond to individuals contacting our website to answer questions, connect people to meeting information and put them in touch with a local AA member to talk to or meet for coffee or a ride to a meeting.

We also carry the message by contacting and responding to the media, schools, industry, and other organizations which can inform the public on the nature and purpose of A.A. and what it can do for alcoholics.

Television and radio stations may request a copy of any of the Public Service Announcements (P.S.A.s) (available in a variety of lengths/formats/languages) by contacting the Public Information desk HERE.

As our co-founder, Bill W., wrote: Public Information takes many forms—the simple sign outside a meeting place that says “A.A. meeting tonight;” listing in local phone directories; distribution of A.A. literature; and radio and television shows using sophisticated media techniques. Whatever the form, it comes down to “one drunk carrying the message to another drunk,” whether through personal contact or through use of third parties and the media.

If You Are a Professional, A.A. Members Are Available to Cooperate with You

We provide information about A.A. to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession: Health Care Professionals, Correctional or Treatment Facility Professionals, Media/News Professionals, Employee Assistance Professionals, Attorneys, Military Professionals; Government Officials; Educators, Clergy Members, Counselors, Social Workers or Students. We believe that professionals are our best allies in getting the AA message to the still suffering alcoholic.
